RE: Middle East
Step 1: Explosions
Step 2: Pain, suffering and bloodshed
Step 3: ?
Step 4: Profit! (and mutually assured destruction)

One can only hope that the current situation serves as a reminder to all world leaders that hate and prejudice does nothing but cause death and misery to innocent people.

Australia 3 - Japan 1
Australia 3 - Japan 1

Of all the score lines I considered this was not I would have expected, not in the result or on how it was achieved.

If SBS were adorable, counting down the months, days and hours in each and every sports broadcast just because they managed to qualify, I can't imagine what they'll be like now, giddy like school girls perhaps?

The Good
We won.
Dominating possession.
Morale and confidence did not collapse in the team after the Japanese goal.

The Bad
Lack of concentration, especially in defence, ESPECIALLY knowing that the Blue Samurai can have a brutal counter attack.
Failure to convert break away chances (although that was fixed by the 2nd half).

The Ugly
As someone noted 'a confetti' of yellow cards. 4 yellow cards, 2 on key players, I wonder if Hiddink will risk them for the Brazil game?
Nauseating overconfidence from the win, not from the team or from the coaching staff but from every other Australian and the media (other than SBS).

meh
It has been almost a month since I last updated heh? To be honest I just can’t seem to muster any effort to write about truly mundane things. This blog has turned out to be like that, a diary of trivial mundane things that no one really cares about and really shouldn’t care about. I have to ask myself why the hell I even bother writing in it or why anyone would bother reading it.

It’s something that I didn’t want this blog to turn out to be, I wanted it to be something worth reading. The authors Big White Guy and Tokyo Times write about the little eccentricities of the places they live in, the editorial folks down at 1up and Gamepolitics write about their interesting industry, Karan, Jack and a host of others have their insights in society.

Me? I write about shit that happens, it turns out to be me ranting about one thing or another. I have yet to write about my April graduation ceremony but who the hell really cares? Do you want to know how much I hate job hunting? how much exams stress me out? Hell no, it’s so incredibly self indulgent.

I write about that because i have NOTHING better to write or otherwise lack the skills to fully articulate what I want to say. It's like that in real life, I have nothing to talk about other than bitching about work, asking stock questions and answering with stock answers. I want to write about how painful it is that I rarely see my 'friends' at IS and how incredibly lonely it is when i do see them. I hate they are/were superficial relationships rather than real friendships and that it seems to be the trend these days but how do i write about it without being so selfish? How do I write about it so that it is interesting?

Blogs should have purpose, this one doesn’t. Just look at this post, how incredibly unimportant was it?

Overdue Update
Firstly, I got my Red DS a few weeks ago with Bleach DS and while I had an opportunity to get a DS Lite, but in my mind cost a bit more than my cash reserves. I'm happy with my DS however I can't help but be a bit jealous over Tom's Navy DS Lite because it IS really pretty. At least my DS is Red and rather rare in Australia. I'm hoping to get a few more games when my bank account recovers, probably Lost in Blue which is a bit like an open ended Robin Crusoe and seems a bit ambitious but a cool concept nonetheless warranting a good look in.

Secondly, I got a copy of the 1oth anniversary edition of Shunji Iwai's Love Letter. Unfortunately for a 10th anniversary edition it was rather light on extras, namely it had none, in fact the original release had a lot of extras which makes this DVD seem like a rip off. Love the movie though.

Third, graduate applications, my 2nd try after I 'forgot' to do it last year. I found it extremely draining, and on top of my family's (sudden) financial uncertainty, emotionally exhausting. I had so much I NEEDED to do this Easter break and I got NONE of it done thanks to these online applications. I really need to catch up on my Japanese.

Fourth, I'm joining in on the next HLJ run, here are what I plan to purchase (or decide between):

1/6 Saber white swimsuit from Fate/Stay

1/7 Garnet from Rumblefish

1/8 Tonami from To Heart 2

See I want the Saber one because it looks cool, I want the Garnet one because I used to fight with her in Rumblefish and I want Tonami because she's from To Heart... (and I like To Heart) but I only have so much money that I have to decide between them, opinions people?

I'll put some pics of my DS next post.
